About

Shelly Engle taught at both the elementary and secondary levels in northern Indiana public schools for 13 years. It was inspiring to work with students and see them grow and thrive with their academics. The love of learning and particularly reading drove her passions as a teacher. She loves teaching and working with learners to ensure their success in all areas of life, not just in the classroom. Teaching is more than delivering content to learners; it is creating bonds and enhancing skills as well as talents that sustain the learner beyond the learning process. Being the hands and feet of Christ in serving students is the foundation of teaching and her passion for being in the classroom.

God called Shelly Engle to Taylor to serve future teachers by sharing my experiences and expertise. What Taylor offers their students is special. Serving Christ in the classroom and now in the Education Department at Taylor is her calling. She is blessed to be a part of the Taylor family.

Shelly loves spending time with her family. They enjoy jiu jitsu, kayaking, fishing, hiking, and all things outdoors. She loves Stand Up Paddleboarding. SUP! She enjoys reading, gardening, and tending her trees and chickens. They work out as a family and strive to serve God in all they do.
