Steve Amerson

Steve Amerson has established a reputation as an excellent tenor with a vocal flexibility that allows him to feel at home in both popular/contemporary music and classical literature. With a wealth and depth of performance experience, Steve is known as America’s Tenor.
Following his graduation from Taylor University in 1976, he earned a Masters in Church Music Degree from Southern Seminary in Louisville, Kentucky. He served on the staff of The First Baptist Church of Van Nuys, California for ten years before establishing Amerson Music Ministries.
He has been a featured soloist for hundreds of churches and performed with symphonies throughout the United States and abroad including performances at the Hollywood Bowl and Carnegie Hall.
Steve has ministered alongside well-known pastors and authors including Billy Graham, Charles Swindoll, Jack Hayford, Bruce Wilkinson and David Jeremiah. He also provides music for countless nonprofit and ministry organizations.
In the studios of Los Angeles, he is a sought after talent. His voice can be heard on over 175 feature films and countless television shows, commercials and video games. He has recorded 18 solo CDs of sacred, Broadway, patriotic and Christmas selections including his latest release, Thankful.
He was chosen to record demonstration tapes used by Luciano Pavarotti, Placido Domingo and Jose Carreras in preparation for The 3 Tenors performances in Los Angeles, New York, Paris and Yokohama, Japan.
Since 2006, Steve has performed for Congressional Medal of Honor Foundation and Society events throughout the United States. In 2009, he was presented the “Bob Hope Award for Excellence in Entertainment” by the Medal of Honor Society. He performs for countless events in support of those who serve in the military and military families including SkyBall and Snowball Express events and the Gary Sinise Foundation.
Since July of 2014, Steve has sung and led worship in Capitol Worship, the first weekly worship services to be held in the United States Capitol in 144 years. He travels to Washington, DC twice a month to give leadership and meet and encourage members of Congress.
Steve is a living witness of the church’s ministry in both the sacred and secular music communities. He is deeply committed to quality music of all styles, which will bring people to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ.
Steve and Kristine make their home in Granada Hills, California and have two adult children and five grandsons.
