Taylor University Honors Chapel – Honoring Dr. Hammond
Dr. Michael Hammond serves as Provost & Executive Vice President at Taylor University. He also has been a professor of history and held administrative posts at Wheaton College, Southeastern University, and the University of Arkansas. His research focuses on Evangelicalism, race, and politics. One of his more popular courses is the History of Baseball and America.
A Taylor graduate, he was Student Body President and then worked as a US Senate staff member on Capitol Hill after graduation. Mike lives with his wife Jennifer and their six children in Upland, Indiana.
Dr. Michael Hammond, our Provost and Executive Vice President, was introduced as the next President of Gordon College in Wenham, Massachusetts. Taylor alumnus Harold J. Ockenga once served as a president of Gordon, and the college has for many years been a fellow member with Taylor of the Christian College Consortium (CCC) and the Council for Christian Colleges and Universities (CCCU).
