Daryl Davis
International musician, author, actor and activist Daryl Davis spends his time in between music gigs, getting to know White supremacists on a personal level. Through his methods of conducting dialogue, active members of the Ku Klux Klan, neo-Nazi parties and others have renounced that ideology after meeting him. As a Race Reconciliator and lecturer, Davis has received numerous awards for his work in helping to dismantle racism across the United States. He is often sought by CNN, MSNBC, NPR and other media outlets as consultant on race relations and White supremacy. Daryl’s first book Klan-Destine Relationships is the first book written by a Black author who interviewed the KKK. He is also the subject of the multi-award-winning documentary film Accidental Courtesy. As an actor, he has appeared on both stage and screen including HBO’s critically acclaimed series The Wire. He speaks nationally and internationally on race and the importance of dialogue and listening. His second book, The Klan Whisperer, is due out in 2021.
