Alyssa Dunker is a commissioned missionary with ReachGlobal, the foreign mission of the Evangelical Free of America. She has served over a decade in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, a rapidly growing city of over 6 million people and even more coconut trees. She and Mark have been married for 22 years and together, they helped start two Bible colleges for pastors and church leaders in East Africa. Alyssa has a passion for trauma counseling and loves the privilege of walking with her African brothers and sisters through hardships. She earned a BA in Secondary Education and English Literature from Pacific University (1994), a Master of Divinity from Multnomah Biblical Seminary (2001), a Master of Arts in Biblical Counseling from Kyiv Theological Seminary (2020, Ukraine), and is currently a doctoral candidate at Southern Seminary. Alyssa has two adult children, Bethany (Taylor, 2024) and Jacob. She is also privileged to be called mama by many young adult Tanzanians. Currently, she and her husband are in Indianapolis on home assignment.
