Dr. Phil Collins

Phil is in his 27th year as a professor of Christian Ministries at Taylor after serving for 16 years as a Youth for Christ staff person and as a pastor at a church.  He graduated from Taylor with a degree in Christian Education and Bible.  He also graduated with a Master’s degree from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School and a Ph.D. from Purdue University.  He met his wife Terri of 42 years at Taylor and they have 2 adult children, both Taylor grads, and 4 grandchildren.  Along with teaching Phil is the Executive Director of the Taylor University Center for Scripture Engagement.  He is the General Editor of the Abide Bible and was presented with the Taylor University Teaching Excellence and Campus Leadership Award in both 2009 & 2024.  While Phil enjoys woodworking, sailing and drinking too many Diet Cokes, he loves his family and helping people meet Jesus through God’s Word.
