Jenny Collins

Prof. Jenny Collins is an Associate Professor of Intercultural Studies at Taylor and teaches several intercultural studies/missions courses and Bib Lit II. She earned her BS at Taylor University in Computer Science/Systems and her Master of Arts in Religion from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School; she is currently a PhD candidate in Missiology at Concordia Theological Seminary in Ft. Wayne, IN. In 2003 Prof. Collins founded a ministry that promotes best practices in short-term missions called MissionExcellence and she serves on the board of its parent ministry, MissionWorks.Global.

Prof. Collins has traveled to 31 countries (often with Taylor students) and is the author of “Partners in Mission: Service Learning Trips as Tools for Growth” in the book Formation for Mission (2022). She directed Taylor’s Lighthouse Program from 1999-2013, through which she coordinated 83 three-week trips to 24 countries for 1,250 students and 130 team leaders. Her research interests include emerging adults and Gen Z, the fear of the Lord, prayer, and short-term missions. She has chaired two church mission leadership teams.

Prof. Collins has been married to her husband J.D. for 40 years and in her free time she enjoys travel, birding, gardening, and outdoor activities.
