Greta Ehlers

As an International Trainer for the Feuerstein Institute of Jerusalem, Israel, Greta Ehlers has a passion for glorifying God by spreading the message that regardless of their current cognitive ability level people don’t need to stay stuck where they are in terms of their ability to think, learn, problem-solve, or adapt. In the scope of clinical cognitive development work Greta has done outside of leading trainings in Feuerstein’s Instrumental Enrichment she has been blessed to impact individuals from a variety of contexts, spanning from professionals who want to improve their planning and organizational skills to people of all ages who desire to overcome the impact of factors like brain injury, addiction, or ADHD.
Greta has many ties to the TU community: She’s a graduate of Taylor Fort Wayne whose oldest brother served as RA in Wengatz and graduated from Upland. Greta served as a pioneer missionary teacher in rural Ethiopia when Project Mercy birthed the first school in Yetebon, and in that role she taught beloved TU alum Yosef and Birhane Teklewold, Bedru Hassen, and Kidane Sarko in their initial years of school. During her time with Project Mercy Greta also had the privilege of hosting TU’s inaugural Ethiopia Lighthouse Team, making memories with those team members that she’ll treasure for a lifetime. Greta’s missionary service with Project Mercy also had another life-changing impact via the adoption of twin baby girls entrusted to the care of Project Mercy’s founder, Marta Gabre-Tsadick. Through that adoption, God brought two of the six children whom Greta and her husband, Mark, are blessed to parent. One of those twins, Hasi, is currently a Junior studying Social Work at Taylor, and as a current TU Mom, Greta is honored to serve as a member of Taylor’s Parent Council.
