Dr. Rick Perhai
Dr. Richard Perhai has served as a missionary with SEND International since 2000, and in Kyiv Ukraine since May 2001. Richard and Marilyn have been married for 32 years and have three grown children and two grandsons. The Perhais have assisted in three Ukrainian church plants from 2001 to 2016. And in October 2016 Rick became one of four founding pastors at Kyiv International Fellowship Church (KIFC). Since 2003 Richard taught Bible and theology and served as Academic Dean at Kyiv Theological Seminary (KTS). He has also taught at Talbot School of Theology-Kyiv Extension since 2007. Our desire is to train nationals to take the gospel to places we could never go ourselves. It has always been our goal to “work ourselves out of a job” by training Ukrainians to replace us. And now the Lord has laid on our hearts a vision to develop a doctoral program in biblical theology to train Ukrainian pastor-theologians via a consortium of existing evangelical schools in Ukraine. The doctorate will complete the “exit plan” so that Ukrainian nationals can also teach masters and doctoral level programs in their own country, for their own people, encouraging healthy churches that value expository preaching from the whole counsel of God, and hearing God’s heartbeat for the nations from Genesis to Revelation.
Reflect
What are unexpected ways God has spoken to you?
What would it look like for you to “bloom where you are planted?”
How can you step out of your comfort zone today?
